Elementary School

The Academie Ste Cecile Elementary School features strong academics, a highly-qualified and professional staff, an enriched curriculum, educational field trips and activities and a safe and secure learning environment all designed to promote the individual success of each student. A strong emphasis on the core subjects of English, Math, Social Studies and Science is combined with regular classes in French, Mandarin, Spanish, Music, Art, Drama, Computers and Physical Education. 

The school provides a full day, every-day program from Junior Kindergarten through to Grade 8. Small class sizes and an ideal pupil-teacher ratio provide students with individualized instruction and support. Outside of these classes, students may take part in a variety of extra-curricular activities such as Student Council, Math Club, Writers Club, Book Club, Chess Club, Choir and Band. Our Elementary House League and School Sports teams include Cross-Country, Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, Floor Hockey, Track and Field and Slow-Pitch Baseball.

In addition, classes in Ethics and Religion or Life Skills teach the children to respect the religious and cultural diversity in our school community. Special activities such as Diversity Day, Science Fair, Speech Contest, Spelling Bee, Music Monday, Caribou and other Math Contests, assemblies and concerts, etc. provide an opportunity for students to showcase their knowledge and skills on a personal level.

At ASCIS there is a strong sense of family between the parents and staff. Communication and involvement with parents is encouraged through a daily homework website, a progress report and three term report cards, parent-teacher interviews, a monthly newsletter and assembly and special scheduled events.
